Some Saturday Snapshots...Beauty Before Us

This morning, I woke up to find the beautiful snow softly falling down and blanketing the outdoors. I had been wanting to check out the creek that lies behind our house and capture some photos of the beauty it holds.  Well, today, I lucked out and my husband ventured out to take the photos for me!  I never knew that just past the backyard held such breathtaking nature.  I have been able to hear the creek rushing after recent rainfall and now, I have the pictures to unite it and complete the vision of this magnificence that is in my own backyard. 

Beauty is something that we do not always need to search for...it often is lying right before us.  We just do not always take the time to notice.

Beautiful! It looks like it will be a nice place in the summer to bring a blanket and book and just relax!

Thankful Thursday - Snow Days

I am 100% convinced that I must have brought the Michigan weather along with me when I moved south, here to Ohio.  I was under the impression that southern Ohio has a much more mild climate and less snow. Well, I have yet to see proof of this. The idea of less snow really excited me! We have had almost as much snow as back in my hometown!   I would love to see warm and sunny weather every single day.  Perhaps, to experience that type of tranquility, I will need to move to a beautiful Caribbean island and sell hot dogs or ice cream on the beach. This is a thought that passes through my mind no less than five times a day in the winter. Like I mentioned before, January and February are the toughest months for me.  It is almost as if old man winter casts a spell of the nasty blahs and sadness on me.  Some days just tend to be worse than others.  I am seriously considering hibernating next winter. It Happened To Me Again!

I can't believe it happened to me again!  More brown bananas!  I certainly hope this is NOT a sign of things in my life turning bad and rotting.  The funny this is, I do not even eat bananas or things made with bananas very often because they are too sugary.  Yes, they taste good and I enjoy them, they just don't work out with my body being a Type 1. Munchie Mix for Monday

Happy Monday!  I hope that everyone was able to enjoy their weekend before today arrived and a new week is upon us again.  I had great hopes and ideas for starting something like "Motivational Monday" posts to share with you today.  Well, I am very much a planner and do not like when things stray off routine and my day goes a bit differently than originally planned.  This is something that I am trying to be a bit more relaxed about.  Anyway, this morning, I had to head to the local Meijer for some groceries and came home with not only lots of groceries, but also a headache.  Unfortunately, this happens more times than not.  I unloaded the groceries into the kitchen and my headache instantly got worse as I was trying to find places to put them and keep it in an organized and orderly fashion.  I moved into this house just over a month ago and the pantry and cupboards are feeling less than user friendly.  Enough of the explanation of my change of plans.  Here is what I did t
